Layer 7 Capital welcomes Scott Widham and David Rubino

White Plains, NY —March 28, 2023. Layer 7 Capital is pleased to announce that Scott Widham has joined the firm as a Managing Director. Scott is a telecommunications veteran with over 30 years of experience in key leadership roles. In addition to performing his role at Layer 7 Capital, Scott serves as the Chairman of Ezee Fiber.

During his career, Scott has served as CEO of five telecommunications and digital infrastructure companies, including Broadwing, a NASDAQ-listed company, where he successfully led the sale and integration to Level 3 for $1.8 billion. Scott was the founder and CEO of Capital Cable, which operated across the United States and Latin America. As CEO, Scott facilitated Capital Cable’s sale to Charter Communications. Prior to joining Layer 7 Capital, Scott was the CEO of Ezee Fiber. Scott earned his BBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Layer 7 is also pleased to announce that David Rubino has joined Layer 7 Capital as an Associate. David has covered the technology, media and telecom (TMT) sector for the last five years. Most recently, David was an Associate in the investment banking division of the Jefferies Group working on M&A transactions in the technology sector. Prior to Jefferies, he served as an AVP in TMT Leverage Finance at CIT, executing leveraged loans to both large and middle-market issuers. David began following the TMT sector as a Senior Analyst at Fitch Ratings covering issuers and borrowers across TMT. David graduated from the University at Buffalo.
